DojoHouse is coming back for another year of fun events, life-long friendships, and dazzling projects, but now with two locations: one in Boston and one in San Francisco! We’re a biotech co-living house that hosts talented undergraduates from the U.S. and Canada who are interested in becoming the next top biotech founders and innovators. We hope to build a community of people who can make significant advances to hard biotech problems in their undergraduate years. We provide intellectual, logistical, and financial support to members as they intern in various academic research labs, cutting-edge biotech startups, or deep-tech VC firms. This year, both DojoHouses will run from June 1 to August 11, 2024.
Boston and San Francisco are vibrant hubs of innovative biotech startups and groundbreaking biology and bioengineering research. However, for many, the cost of living and navigating the system are barriers to success. We hope to guide anyone, regardless of their financial circumstances or background, to make the most of their experience.
Applications for the 2024 DojoHouses are now closed. Follow us on @thedojohouse on Twitter to follow the House members' summer adventures!
DojoHouse is graciously supported by Emergent Ventures, 1517, and Amaranth Foundation.

The Program
The Program
In addition to their internships, DojoHouse members will engage with in-house programming designed to accelerate their growth as biotech leaders. House members will have all housing expenses covered and be immersed in a close-knit community of future biotech founders and scientists.
House members will take part in mentorship sessions, fireside chats, visits to innovative biotech laboratories, and networking opportunities with biotech leaders. Programming culminates in an end-of-summer symposium to showcase individual projects to the broader biotech community. We emphasize interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge and believe innovation abounds when enterprise and cutting-edge science intertwine. Imbued with these values, the DojoHouse acts as a co-living space and a mini-incubator, cultivating the next big ideas from the youngest talent.
Some of our notable house guests and mentors include:
Jake Becraft, Co-Founder/CEO of Strand Therapeutics
Michael Retchin, Co-President of Nucleate
Lori Rudolph-Owen, COO of Senda Biosciences
Matthias Wagner, CTO of Cellino
Julie Wolf, Principal at 2048VC

Selection Criteria
Selection Criteria
The DojoHouse is intended for students who otherwise would lack access to biotech knowledge and opportunities. This summer’s selection process will place an added focus on students who have the passion and aptitude to become the next top biotech founders, as well as students traditionally underrepresented in STEM.
The only prerequisite is that you find an in-person internship based in Boston/Cambridge or San Francisco by early April. Read this FAQ to learn more about what it's like to be a House member!
